Vaerket – Street art gallery in decay – Kentmere 400

A little look at the local street art gallery in Nørresundby where i live, that closed a couple of years ago, and since have gone very much down hill sadly, but still very photogenic in my eyes. Guessing it will be torn down soon. I found the following description of the site online, it only reached to be open a year or so i think, before it became to hazardous. But there was some spectacular street art in that short intense period.

Since we opened in August of 2016, Værket has continued to offer street artists a creative space to experiment, refine and showcase their craft for the community. Sheltered from the elements, in the heart of Nørresundby, guests can always expect something new upon every visit. Through MAK:VRK, Værket is able to offer courses and workshops, in our open facilities, where anyone with an idea and a spray can are welcome to try your hands at spray painting. A truly unique space for those who finds themselves interested in experiencing the local street art culture

This is the first series i shot some weeks ago, but just got around to developing now. Its shot on my Nikon F4 + 50mm 1.8+ Kentmere 400 which is my favourite budget BW film. It goes great with this kind of scenarie, where things are close.

I just did a follow up session in color with my medium format Bronica SQ-Ai, that i will post in a couple of weeks, when i get it developed 🙂

Urban exploring

So its time for a reboot of this blog, its now dedicated to my hobby, which is photography, both film and digital. Lets see if i can keep it up, the pace that is. I have been doing photography for almost 4 years now, so thought it was time to have a place to share what i do.

Recently i was out with a friend, doing some exploring of abandoned places, and we found some great places in my hometown of Aalborg, Denmark. This is the analog part of it, also shot some digital, which i will post later on.

All shots in the gallery taken with the Nikon F4 + 50mm f1.8+ Kentmere 400 film. Home developed in HC 110, and home scanned on Epson V550

Ektar 100

This is my first try with Ektar 100, shot at the local architectural Perl, “Musikkens hus” or “House of Music” in English, which is one of the most exiting places to photograph if you ever visit Aalborg, Denmark. The house is open for the public, so just go in :). I really like the colors of the Ektar movie, especially the first image, its just magic in my eyes. Looking forward to shooting some more with that film as we approach sunnier dayes, and hopefully less Corona.

Shot on the Bronica SQ-AI + Zenzanon 50 + Developed by lab + Scanned on Epson V550

Covid-19 walk through Aalborg day 4

The danish Covid-19 lockdown does not really take effect before monday, but since thursday all schools closed down and most public workplaces, except critical public functions shutdown.

On the surface the town looks the same, a little more empty perhaps. But when you approach the windows, you see small notices in many shop windows, restaurant windows, bar windows. That everything has shut down for the next 14 days at least, im guessing it will be a lot longer…. But hoping for the best. Good luck out there, both in Aalborg and everywhere else in the world
